How To Make Money With Digital Photography

If you have a digital camera and enjoy taking pictures, chances are you have thought about making some extra cash with your photos. The fact of the matter is that digital photography is the fastest growing hobby. It is not hard to take your hobby to the next level, with the right knowledge and some creative energy. There are several different ways that you can use your camera to make money.

All it takes is a little imagination, a flair for showmanship, a bit of salesmanship and the willingness to do some work – and you are set.

If you are a digital photography hobbyist, the chances are good that you already have the equipment you need to get started. Things you will need are a digital camera, preferably one with similar features of an SLR film camera, a high-quality printer or printing service, and a good tripod.

An essential tool for digital photographers is a good photo editing program. The best applications that you can use are Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, Corel Paint Shop Pro X, and Adobe Photoshop Elemts 5.

Investing a few hundred dollars in marketing materials will get you off to a good start.

Before we move onto some of the next steps you have to understand one misconception. Many people think that it is not possible to make money taking pictures this day. Naysayers refer to the fact that pretty much everybody has a digital camera at their disposal, or at least one on their phone. Most people think that no one will pay for pictures when people can take their own pictures.

The answer is simple. Sure, almost everybody has a digital camera or film camera of one kind or another. But how competent are they at using it?

If you look closely at the pictures that most people take, you will see what I mean. Let’s be honest. There is more to photography that point and shoot. Motion blur from holding the camera incorrectly. Poor colour. Awkwardly posed subjects. Basically, they do not possess composition skills. They do not know how to avoid things like shadows over their subjects faces. Even if these people understood how to use digital photo editing software properly, many of their pictures are beyond help. You can only do so much with correcting a bad photograph.

What do you think is going to happen when these people try and print their photos. I am sure you have seen photos like this. The prints have bad, splotchy resolution. This happens when the photographer had no idea how to adjust the camera settings to produce printable photos.

This is good news for you. If you excellent digital photography skills then you will be easily able to show new customers a few samples that you have taken.

Are you still apprehensive? I attended a birthday party recently and I am going to tell you about it. The hostess hired an amateur photographer who was striking out to start her own business, much like you are.

Most of the people at the party brought their own digital cameras, but most people forgot to take pictures. Those of us who did take snapshots were poorly positioned and usually couldn’t get a good view of the scene.

The photographer received payment for her services. Two days later, she uploaded her photographs to a web site. Party-goers received the link by email. Guests could then download, print, or save to disk any photos they wanted.

The photograph did not even have to print or develop the photos and they were paid for their services as well.

Pretty awesome, huh?

Anyone can do this! All you need to do is make a marketing plan and develop your picture taking skills and say cheese!

Digital Photo Recovery

2010 January 27

Digital photos can be something which are important to all of us.  A lot of of the images we choose happen once in a lifetime, that is why they are so very significant.

From your child’s first steps to pictures of your family, exposures are very important.  As important as they are, nothing is worse than losing them.  This can be very painful and frustrating, especially knowing that you”ll never to capture the picture again.

Although it may sometimes seem that your camera misfunctioned, all hope isn’t altogether lost.  There are ways that you can recover your digital photographs, even though you may not be aware of it.

Most digital camera’s for instance, use smart cards that will store the information.  To be on the safe side, you should always safe your photographs to your card, and transfer them to your computer the first chance you get – then back them up to a CD or DVD.

Occasionally, when you have your photos on your computer, you may move them to the recycle bin and not even realize it.

You can always correct this, by right mouse clicking the recycle bin then choosing to open it up.  If the pictures are there, simply drag them to your desktop or right click them and choose restore.  This will put them back in the location they were in before they were moved to the recycle bin.

There can be other cases where your photographs aren’t this easy to recover.  If the card in your camera has become corrupted or if your camera has experienced hardware problems, then it won’t be so easy to recover your pictures.

If this is the case, you should always look towards software or professional repairmen.

There is software out there that is designed for most types of digital camera problems, and it can normally recover your pictures in the case of malfunction.

A lot of services and software can recoup almost all files that you have on your camera, from JPEG pictures to video files.

Most people transfer their pictures to their computer as soon as they can, which can be recovered using data recovery methods.  On the other hand, those who don’t, will need a professional to take a look at the camera.

If you don’t waste any time and seek a professional immediately, your pictures can normally be recovered.

Digital cameras are items that most of us own nowadays, as they take professional quality photographs.  Anytime that it appears you have lost your pictures, you can turn to software and professional recovery services to get your pictures back.

Your digital photographs are very important, which is why you”ll want to take care of them.  Mistakes and disasters do happen though – which is why there are recovery services.

Pixels

by Pixels

Funnily enough, it seems that the word pixel has been around since forever.

But, although noone really seems to know where the actual word pixel comes from, the actual term or phrase was first published back in 1965 by a Frederic C. Billingsley.

Frederic used the term to describe elements in picures from the video images that came from the space probes which had been sent to the Earths Moon and also from Mars.

In modern days, the general term pixel is basically used to describe the smallest single component of a digital image, or in a nutshell A Dot or a Square.

They are mainly used to display an image on either a screen or some printed matter.
